Gingerbread Oat Bars

  • Author: recipes
  • Total Time: 35-40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Step 1:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

Step 2:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, molasses, ground ginger, and cinnamon. Mix thoroughly to ensure all the oats are coated evenly with the molasses and spices.

Step 3:

Transfer the oat mixture to the prepared baking dish. Press the mixture firmly into the dish to form an even layer. This will help the bars stick together after baking.

Step 4:

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges start to turn a deep golden brown and the bars feel firm to the touch.

Step 5:

Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the dish for at least 10 minutes. This cooling period helps the bars set, making them easier to cut.

Step 6:

Once cooled, lift the bars out of the dish using the edges of the parchment paper (if used), and cut into squares or rectangles.

Serving Suggestions:

Gingerbread Oat Bars can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature. For an extra special treat, drizzle them with a simple icing or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
