Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup okra, sliced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns or sandwich rolls

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground chicken until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  2. Add diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are softened.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, sliced okra, Cajun seasoning, chicken broth, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until flavors meld and sauce thickens.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Spoon the chicken gumbo mixture onto hamburger buns or sandwich rolls.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy the flavorful Chicken Gumbo Sloppy Joes!

Notes

Feel free to adjust the Cajun seasoning according to your spice preference. You can also add a dash of hot sauce for an extra kick.
