Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Hamburger buns, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground chicken until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
  2. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, thyme, and oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together and the sauce to thicken.
  5. Once the mixture has thickened, spoon it onto hamburger buns and serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the seasonings to suit your taste preferences. You can also add some hot sauce or cayenne pepper for extra heat.
